Stayed here for 2 nights Neat and Clean room at economical price. Customer services was outstanding. Checked me in as quickly as they can. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would say magnificent. Parking was limited but anyone can find lots of free street parking just beside Uni of Sunderland that is only 5 minute walk from Travelodge
Anything but luxury obviously! But it's good for what it is. Booked in last minute and had no problem getting a room. Staff were polite friendly and helpful. Room was decent size clean and comfortable. The room did look well used so needs redecorating and revamping. Only real fault is noise pollution. If your a light sleeper this would be an issue. When you've travelled 5 hours and arrive at 2 am the last thing you want to hear is all the noise of out side.

Seagulls! Ugh! I know it's not the hotels fault but they go on till 10pm and start at 5am. It's not a quiet place. The parking isn't the best. Pay and display all around you. I used the one opposite, 90p an hour. Free on Sunday all day then weekdays after 6pm and before 8am the next day. Apart from all that it's a nice place to stay, staff are lovely, 10 min walk from town, entertainment and bars nearby.
Standard Travelodge fare, but, I dunno - there's more scenic areas. Plus is, managed to get a good priced room on a night when so many other places were pretty high priced.

Nice rustic atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Paid a tad more for drinks than I would of liked but still a lot cheaper than the Empire next door.
An architectural delight. What a wonderful building. Restored magnificently. Good beer too. Don't expect any food.

Great Pub on route into city centre. Fab staff, food, drink and especially the team. Good function room upstairs or you can book small snuff area or reserve tables. Good size parking but remember to get a ticket which is redeemable at the bar...wardens are on the ball anytime.
This venue has a very nice appearance inside and out, it also has a nice outside seating area. There is plenty of onsite parking. The drinks in my opinion are a little pricey. Ideal for people wanting to relax in a nice enviroment. The staff are friendly and approachable.

Great little Italian restaurant. A friend had the whole place booked out for a birthday party. Really nice hot and cold buffet. Would consider going back for a meal at happy hour.
Had a lovely meal last night in warm ambient surroundings with great service. Food was excellent too. Costa, the owner takes time to come and talk to everyone and help maintain the ambience and good feeling. Really enjoyed our night for my daughters 16th Birthday 😊 well recommended.

This guest house is ideally located within walking distance to the city centre. The twin bedded room was ideal and the bathroom had a lovely walk in shower. Kevin was the perfect host , even giving my wife and I a lift into the city centre . We had a substantial. , tasty. , full English breakfast cooked by Alison. We are so pleased to have found this gem and will be using it again.
Fantastic B&B. Lovely couple who run it. Very comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed for a night and it feels like living in a house. It was quiet, and incredibly clean. The staff was very helpful. This is one of the best places I have ever stayed at. Wifi is available everywhere. They even give you a form to fill out so they know what cook you for breakfast. I highly, highly recommended this place to everyone.
Lovely spacious family room, ideally located for access to Sunderland city centre by foot but also easy enough to drive further afield from. The breakfast was perfect too!
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
